MORPHOLOGY DIGEST

                   Volume 14, Issue 2, August 2007

         HTML: http://ams.jrc.it/mdigest/DIGEST/Digest07-2
       PDF: http://ams.jrc.it/mdigest/DIGEST/Digest07-2.pdf

                      edited by Pierre Soille

Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, Ispra site, Italy

Scope:  the scope of the Morphology Digest list is to provide a
communication channel between people interested in
mathematical morphology and morphological image analysis.
Related posts such as publication and conference
announcements, algorithms, software, queries, and job
proposals are seeked. The list is moderated in the sense
that all messages are collected by the list owner and then
edited on a regular basis so as to create an edited digest
(maximum 6 per year). The digest is then sent to all list
subscribers but also appears at the following URL:
      http://ams.jrc.it/mdigest

Subscribe: email to listserver@jrc.it with "subscribe mdigest" as
BODY of message and empty subject.

Unsubscribe: email to listserver@jrc.it with "unsubscribe mdigest"
+ email address as BODY and empty subject.

Submissions: email to mdigest@jrc.it with "submit" as subject. Please
note that only submissions from list subscribers will be read
      by the editor.

1 ISMM'07 registration opened
=========================================================

From: banon at dpi.inpe.br

The registration for ISMM2007 is now open (see
http://ismm.dpi.inpe.br/2007/ for full information on the conference
including a preliminary programme). You can register using the web
site:

https://registration.ab3c.org

There you will need to inform us:

- some personal information. Brazilian residents must inform their
   CPF.

- the title of the paper, when applicable.

- registration status: professional or student (a letter confirming
   this status will be requested)

- additional proceedings copies (a fee of R$ 80 reais will be charged
   for each copy)

- the tutorials in which you intend to participate (a fee of R$40
reais will be charged for each tutorial)

- banquet participation (a fee of R$ 120 reais will be charged for
   each ticket)

- type of payment (Brazilian residents with a valid CPF must choose
   the banking deposit option;

Visa credit card for non-residents). For Visa card payment, you just
have to provide the first 6 digits of your card. We remind you that
Brazilian Funding agencies have made partial fellowships available for
Brazilian researchers and students. If you want to apply for a
fellowship, we urge you to write to the ISMM committee
(ismm2007@ime.usp.br) to receive further instructions on how to
proceed.

After clicking on the Continue button, the system will display another
page with a summary of your registration. Please verify that all the
information is correct and that the amount charged corresponds to what
you have chosen, and then please click on the Register button.

If you are paying by Visa, the system will direct you to a secured
Visa credit card site (Verified by Visa system), where you will need
to provide the complete credit card information.  For more information
on this process, you may check:

http://money.guardian.co.uk/creditanddebt/creditcards/story/0,,2062170,00.html

Because of the new "Verified by Visa" (VbV) system, your credit card
may not be accepted by the system. In that case, we suggest that you
call your credit card company to inquire whether it participates of
the Verified by Visa system. Unfortunately, Visanet will not allow
payments to ISMM'2007 without using the VbV system. We apologize for
any inconvenience this may cause.

We look forward to seeing you in Rio soon!

The Organization of ISMM'2007.

PS: Please forward any questions to ismm2007@ime.usp.br

3 Jobs: PhD studentships and research posts
=========================================================

From: paul dot whelan at dcu dot ie

The Centre for Image Processing & Analysis (CIPA, DCU), in conjunction
with the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute at Dublin City University
form the DCU element of the National Biophotonics & Imaging Platform
(NBIP).

The mission of the NBIP is to provide an integrated national access
and training infrastructure in research, education, technology
development and industry collaboration for the State's investment in
Biophotonics and Imaging. CIPA will house the Image Processing &
Analysis facility for this platform.

As part of this process CIPA is looking to make a number of key
appointments.

Details of these appointments (PhD Studentships & Research Posts) can
be found at:
